"How many downloads do I need before I can get advertisers on my podcast?"
The answer - it depends.
I know, what a vague answer, right? but here's the scoop...
Like many things in the podcasting space, there is no set rule.
An advertiser's goal is to reach as many people as possible with their message so that people will purchase their products.
While having 100 people download your podcast is a great achievement, the number is just too low.
So what is the number that makes sense?
First, you have to determine how you want to sell ads.
👉representation firm/other platform
They do all the daily grind for you so there is far less work on your behalf. But, you will need at least 5,000 downloads per episode in a 30-day period.
👉 by yourself
It's more work, but it can be as low as 1,000 downloads per episode. You can couple it with other social media content like newsletters, websites, blogs, etc for a bigger impact.
You can also start out on our own and then when your audience is big enough, move to a firm to grow you even more.
